The supreme court has directed the director general of police of Madhya Pradesh Kailash Makwana to constitute the SIT by ten am on Tuesday.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh police constituted a three-member special investigation team (SIT) to probe the derogatory remarks made by state tribal welfare minister Vijay Shah targeting Colonel Sofya Qureshi.
A notification to the effect was issued by the Madhya Pradesh police late on Monday night.
This was in compliance with the supreme court order in this regard, official sources said on Tuesday.
The supreme court has directed the director general of police of Madhya Pradesh Kailash Makwana to constitute the SIT by ten am on Tuesday.
The court has ordered that the SIT should comprise a woman member.
The members of the SIT are senior IPS officer Pramod Verma, currently posted as inspector general (IG), Sagar range, Kalyan Chakravarty, posted as deputy inspector general (DIG), state armed force (SAF), Bhopal, and Dindori district superintendent of police (SP) Vahini Singh.
The SIT has been directed by the supreme court to submit its status report by May 28.
The minister’s ‘sister of terrorists’ remarks targeting Col Qureshi while speaking at a function near Mhow in Indore district on May 12 had triggered public outcry leading the Madhya Pradesh high court to direct the police to file an FIR against him.
The minister however moved the supreme court against the order.
However, the apex court censured the minister and ordered the constitution of the SIT to probe his controversial remarks.
