Mumbai: Motorola’s Droid Turbo 2 that garnered appreciation for its unique ‘shatter-shield’ technology is showing a strange display problem for some users, who have reported a glitch involving a strange green line appearing on the screen.

Other users said that the line keeps going and coming. Users have also reported that the green line gradually expands with time. However, the root of the cause is yet to be discovered.

Back in November, an individual named Veronam posted on Motorola’s forum regarding the issue and also pointed out other instances where users faced a similar problem.

In the post, he said: “Last Friday my 1-week old Droid Turbo 2 developed a single pixel wide green line running vertically up and down the screen. It would come and go if I pressed or squeezed the phone, but was more or less present if the screen is on.”

“If I pressed to the right and below the home soft-key (near the right speaker hole) it would fade in and out...great, some sort of physical screen malfunction. This phone has been taken care of, never dropped, always in its nice case,” he added.

After approaching Motorola and Verizon, he was told that the phone has a shatterproof display, but is not shockproof. Although he claims that the handset was in mint condition, the company representatives were convinced that he had somehow managed to drop his phone.

On the contrary, numerous users have posted about a similar issue they faced after purchasing the handset and the numbers of users facing the predicament are increasing.

Motorola has not yet given any statement regarding the alleged Droid 2 display glitch. During the time of its launch, it was learned that the device will employ a 5.4-inch QHD display protect by four layers, which would prevent it from the hardest of falls.

The company also launched the international variant of the Droid Turbo 2, dubbed Moto Force X in October last year.
