As battered as the city has been left by nature — after it unleashed its fury through a wrecking flood a year ago, and cyclone Vardah this year — there’s also a birthing spirit among the residents to care for mother Earth better. Undeterred by the havoc, there have been attempts to re-nurture the Tamil lands, and an admirable resilience that Chennaiites keep filling themselves up with. From re-planting to techniques on renursing the wounded trees back to life — Chennai’s goals have all been redirected towards caring for nature.
