Spook'tacular for the night!

The much-celebrated American festival, Halloween falls today and many ardent fans are going all out to celebrate the same.

‘Hallo’ city folk, it’s that time of the year — Of ghosts and ghouls for endless fun! Halloween is giving us major #spooky goals. So, what is Bengaluru up to? Aside from heading out like a Gamora, Catwoman or the quintessential Halloween favourite aka the Joker, citizens are gearing up for a mad rager, on this ‘Spook’tacular day. We find out more...

Of creepy celebrations: Victor Salter, who will be hosting a movie marathon binge at a Koramanagala address between till October 31, adds, “The open theatre scene in the city is thriving. When was the last time you watched something that freaked you out? So, I’ve decided to throw a movie marathon bash, which will screen the scariest movies of all time. What better way to welcome the Halloween vibe than by movie binging at this eatery? And yes, there is going to be a dress code to enter. I’m ‘excited!” And clearly, the revelry doesn’t end at just that.

Aware of the buzz around Halloween, there is a rise in the birthday parties being hosted at around this time of the year, believes pet grooming specialist Lopa Saikia. “I will be attending the spookiest private party hosted by a friend at a villa in the city. Well, when I say family, our fur babies are also invited. And I know guests who will be painting their pooches faces too! We will have the front porch of the villa decorated in a ghostly theme and pumpkins painted in metallic colour.

The entire villa will be lit up with spider light centrepieces. For the cocktail hour, we are going to have interesting Halloween-themed drinks, some of which are “the black magic margaritas”, “zombies cocktail” , “risen from the grave” etc. The party host has made sure to have a Halloween special dinner with “Spider Web Pizza”, “ Bucket of Bones”, “Voodoo Fundae”, “Green Salad with Darcula’s Teeth”. Lastly, it’s never a party without music! So we have DJs to fuel up the party with a specially prepared Halloween song list to get the crowd groovy,” says Lopa.

In this season of ‘Spook’tacular revelry, popular party host Viren Khanna too has something eerie lined up for party animals at an, Indiranagar address. “We’ve just had three massive Halloween parties over the weekend, and the next is happening today. Aside of the fact that I’ll be hosting it and my buddy Martin D’souza will be at the decks, we are going to be having complimentary blood shots for all the women till 11 pm,” he says.

Reminiscing old times, Misha Pamnany, an f&B consultant, let’s us in on how the trend is slowing picking up pace in India, and is indeed an exciting idea to put ones thinking cap on.”The last time we had a halloween bash at my place, it was a mad house. My brother had flown down from the US. So, we decided to go all out - with creepy sides like cottage cheese cut into human finger-like shapes to skeletons hanging from the roof, dry ice and a voodoo doll making a crackling sound every time it popped up. I chose to be a boring devil, but it was great to spot my family don attires of characters like Captain Jack Sparrow, Poison Ivy and the like. My suggestion would be to get a lot of jack-in-the box decorations and with a individualistic touch,” she concludes.
