This video tells you what it's likes to be an Army BRAT
It’s not very easy to understand the life of an Army kid. Mostly they are called ‘Brats’ and of course not in a good way.
An Army kid and RJ, Shyam Renganathan recently posted a video on YouTube and it went viral all over the internet. The video has got over 40k views.
He tells us what it really means to be an Army BRAT means ‘Born Raised And Transferred’.
The video starts with, "I'm an army Brat. For all my civilian friends, it might sound a little absurd, but BRAT stands for Born Raised And Transferred,"
It means changing schools and friends and language according to your peers every two years, living in the area that you might think twice before going to. Listening to news about martyred soldiers and praying it’s not their father. He describe both the pros and cons of having your parent in the military.
International holidays means going to the border and be told “that is theirs and this side is ours”.
"Army men are of a completely different race. High altitudes, encounters, separations, why take all this tension? Then retire and fight for One Rank One Pension," he says in his monologue.
“Arey yaar, Army main to tumhe sab kuch free milta hai. Never ever ever say that to me,” he says and explains why.
The video strikes a cord with all the army kids out and even with those who had no idea of how is the life in this service.
