Quest for perfect pout causes Kylie Jenner fan's lips to burst out due to filler

Social media celebrities and viral sensations have gone on to garner a huge following worldwide. But when people try to emulate everything these individuals do, it can lead to some grave consequences due to unrealistic beauty standards and body image issues they cause.

While Kylie-Jenner was well known on Instagram for her pout, a boy obsessed with her took bizarre steps to imitate her. 24-year-old James Holt had his first filler when he was 16 and had so much of it in his lips that it burst out.

Holt’s family and friends are now worried that his pursuit for the perfect pout may cause his mouth to explode and fall off. He has spent a lot on the enhancement of his lips taking painful injections every three months.

But the risks haven’t deterred Holt who says he enjoys the attention even as his lips have been bruised due to the increasing size. He has also undergone nose jobs, cheek fillers as well as surgery to increase the size of his hips to look more like Kylie Jenner.

Holt says he wasn’t happy with his natural look and is happy with the fake appearance.

Several studies in the past have showed how young people feel pressure to look perfect on social media. One teenager even tried to take his own life when he failed to take the ‘perfect’ selfie.
