Chennaiites are fast becoming raving party animals

The youth of Chennai have become raging party animals thanks to the advent of pubs and resto bars across the city catering to the wide choice of customers.

“Chennai is the newly rising night life destination in the south of India. Achieving excellence in almost every sector of development, the new venture into the nightlife scene is proving to be exceedingly profitable right from the start”, says the manager of the famous resto-bar, Watsons. The menu and entry prices vary and can fit customer needs. The customer graphic is diverse and nightlife in Chennai is a vibrant affair.

Abhishek Kapoor, a boy based in Chennai, born in a non musical background, takes his love for music gradually, becoming a leading figure amongst this generation of DJs .Though AK could never imagine what lay ahead of him when he began his DJ career at the tender age of 18, he strongly felt hat DJs are partly magicians.

“It’s their job to create an atmosphere, to keep the night and the mood flowing and to take the audience on a journey from one hour to the next. It must be done seamlessly as the DJ isn’t doing a great job if the crowd can tell when one track ends and the other begins. Chennai’s nightlife scene might not be considered as vibrant as that of Mumbai, Delhi or even Bengaluru, but the city still loves to go out post sundown. While it’s difficult to sustain bars and clubs outside of hotels, select venues such as Glee, Off The Record or The Vault have kept the ball rolling to ensure we have plenty of options. I like to play whatever the crowd demands, which includes banging beats to smooth tracks,” Abhishek said.

In the last two months, witnessing IPL match screenings in most of the pubs around the city seems to be the most trending social activity. With the introduction of great deals and offers, the CSK fans head to clubs with their yellow jerseys and drinks in their hands supporting the men in yellow.

Last Tuesday, we spotted Anirudh Ravichander at Bay146 in Savera cheering eagerly for the men in yellow on that nail-biting finish! Rhapsody in Courtyard by Marriott, Take 2 (the cinema themed pub in Kodambakkam), Secret Society, Diff 42 resto-lounge and the US 101 in T Nagar seem to be the best sports bars of the city while Off the record (the newest pub in Chennai) and Watsons seem to be the most crowded places on Saturday nights.
