Visionary from LGBTQ community

Hotelier who filed a plea in SC on sec. 377 is a.

Very rarely do we come across people who not just stand up for themselves but for the country itself. One such Good Samaritan is one of our country’s most celebrated hoteliers — Keshav Suri from the Lalit group of hotels. He needs no introduction. He has been a pioneer of the LGBTQ community and is the main reason why there is such a breath of fresh air in all aspects, be it events, employment, performances, you name it and Keshav has it all sorted.

He’s one of the very few people who give employment to the LGBTQ community. He strongly feels it has to be in every profession, not just the hospitality industry. He even mentioned to me that there are people suffering in this world and employment should be given to acid burn victims, physically challenged and many more.

Recently Keshav has been all over the news and media about the petition he filed with regard to Section 377, the whole idea behind him sending this petition to the Supreme Court was to represent a collective voice to address a vital human right. India is a developing country and freedom has to be every individual’s right to live his life as equal as everyone else. Keshav is very thankful to the Supreme Court for having heard him out and is definitely waiting for a positive response that every individual, be he straight or from the LGBTQ community, has been waiting many years for.

When I spoke to this lovely man about the plight of many young gay men who are forced by parents to get married and eventually they get divorced or even commit suicide because of the pressure, all Keshav said was he wouldn’t want to comment on any parents’ upbringing but it’s high time people wake up and start supporting their children. Why ruin an innocent girl’s life? And to the many men out there who are forced to get married, please be strong and never live a lie. It may seem easy in the beginning but you are living a life that isn’t yours.

I can’t stop talking about this amazing man but I would love to thank Keshav for being such a strong and positive man in filling a petition to revoke the entire section and standing like a pillar of strength and comfort for all of us.
