Watch: 78-year-old grandmother deadlifts 225 pounds like a pro

Just two years ago, Ms. Webb's only form of physical activity came from mowing the lawn occasionally.

If you have finally run out of excuses to hit the gym then this 78-year-old grandma will cut you down to size. Shirley Webb’s trainer, John Wright, shared on Instagram a clip of the hale and hearty septuagenarian deadlifting around 225 pounds almost effortlessly.

What is even more unbelievable is that just two years ago, Ms. Webb’s only form of physical activity came from mowing the lawn occasionally. She couldn’t even get up the floor without assistance and had to grab the banister for support whenever she climbed the stairs. However, all this changed after she joined Club Fitness in Wood River, Illinois with her granddaughter and got herself a trainer, reports Metro.uk. She now attends the gym twice a week and even regularly deadlifts over 200 pounds.

What’s more, last November Ms. Webb set the Illinois record for deadlifting at 237 pounds in her age and weight group.
