To campaign or not? Jr NTR in a fix

The actor finds himself in a dilemma on whether or not he should campaign for his half sibling Suhasini.

When it comes to the forthcoming Telangana elections, all eyes are on the Kukatpally assembly constituency. The reason is that Nandamuri Suhasini, the daughter of late Hari Krishna, is contesting on a Telugu Desam ticket. According to a one observer, this is going to be prestigious both for the TDP and also for the Nandamuri family as many people are campaigning in support of Suhasini.

Recently, Paritala Sunita campaigned for her, followed by Suhasini’s cousin and actor Nandamuri Tarakaratna and even her uncle, actor Balakrishna agreed to campaign here. Though many people are willing to come here most are waiting in anticipation for one person to arrive Jr NTR himself. While the TDP cadre and Suhasini too have said in interviews that Jr NTR will definitely spend one day in campaigning here, there is still no word from the actor.

Soon after Suhasini was declared as the TDP candidate, brothers Kalyan Ram and Jr NTR gave a joint press statement wishing her well. That said, both have maintained their silence, and there is no certainty on whether they will indeed campaign or not.

According to a source, Jr NTR is a bit confused on what to do. “If, after his campaigning, his sister wins, it’s not a problem, but if the result is not in her favour, then the actor will be embarrassed as it will reflect on his lack of popularity. Another reason: even if you put aside the result, once the actor campaigns for her, then he is stamped a TDP supporter. This may divide his fan base, so he is in a bit of a dilemma,” said a close aide of Jr NTR.

Recently his uncle Nandamuri Balakrishna attended a function organised by Jr NTR. The actor however is faced with a tricky situation as a result of this sudden political development. “To pacify everyone, Kalyan Ram may campaign a day in Kukatpally instead of Jr NTR,” the source added.
