When did we spot Deepika Padukone? The leggy lass was in the city visiting family and friends. She was spotted tucking into some delicious yums at a popular eatery in UB City. The Bengaluru hudugi and Bollywood star was at ease and enjoying being out in the beautiful Ooru weather. We heard that guests couldn’t recognise her instantly as she had turned up in a de-glam avatar devoid of make up, to dine with a friend. Sandeep and Gitanjali Maini’s 25th wedding anniversary party may be over, but friends continue to talk about this gala bash. The ballroom and other restaurants at a star hotel were taken over by this popular couple, who treated their guests to a really lavish do where alcohol flowed like water, and there was enough food to feed an army. It was also so tastefully done with special sections for starters, main course and desserts. The highlight of the evening was the fabulous Sanam Puri who had everyone eating out of his hand, as he crooned classic Bollywood numbers. A tender moment featuring private photographs from the couple’s 25 years journey added the perfect sentimental touch to this fun Saturday night.
Generosity knows no wallet size! Last week, Bengaluru musician Debjeet Basu was shocked at the shoddy approach by a restaurant through a food app! Both promised to make ammends, and the Chinese kitchen has made up for it by feeding the hungry. The guitarist and composer of the Perfect Strangers band couldn’t stop beaming at their response! “Got satisfying closure on this issue today. Have to say the restaurant took it seriously. Firstly, they got a pest control done and showed me the receipt.Also as committed, they prepared food for 10 people and packed it nice and clean. The head chef came down from Chennai and was courteous and showed me around the kitchen and facilities.Then I headed over to meet the fantastic folks at Let’s Spread Love — Bengaluru Chapter who do this food drive on the third Sunday of every month and distribute food to people who really need it. We distributed food to mainly slum areas around Sarjapur. Harshil Mittal you have started something really good. Hats off to you and your team. Very humbling experience. I don’t think I will ever waste food again after seeing what I saw.” Alls well that ends well, right?
