Man celebrates birthday parties' for potholes, gets authorities to repair road
One man in the United States came up with a novel way to get the attention of civic authorities and shed light on the problem of neglected potholes in his neighbourhood. Mississippi resident Eddie Prosser threw 'birthday parties' for the potholes to drive home the point that they were still not repaired.
Prosser would put up a bright coloured balloon as well as a huge birthday card that read “Happy birthday, Pothole!” near a pothole. He would also add “I’ve been here for over a year!” on the card in an attempt to stress on the incompetence of the authorities in a sarcastic way.
After several local news outlets picked up the story, city officials not only filled up the potholes but will also be paving the area over soon, according to local reports.
