Exhibiting endurance!

Seven members of the Hyderabad Randonneurs completed the gruelling 1,230 km Paris-Brest-Paris ride, touted to be the World Cup of cycling.

Even as Hyderabad shuttler P.V. Sindhu decimated her opponent in the finals of the BWF World Championship in Basel, Switzerland, 500 km away in Paris, her fellow Hyderabadis showed great endurance to successfully complete the Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP) ride — a World Cup of sorts in cycling.

The PBP cycling event, held from August 18 to 22, saw over 7,000 cyclists from 75 countries taking part in the world’s toughest long-distance cycling ride.

Among them were seven Hyderabad athletes — Sanjay Yadav, Chaitanya Manchikatla, Sidharth Bachloo, Gautham Reddy, Raja Sabareesh, Naveen Kommukuri and Prasad Raju — from the Hyderabad Randonneurs contingent, who successfully completed the gruelling ride of 1,230 km within the stipulated time of 90 hours. Clearly elated, each of them is now basking in the glory of their accomplishment.
