Artist Benny Harlem is a many of many talents: a singer, songwriter, and a model. But he is also an amazing role model for his six-year-old daughter, Jaxyn, by encouraging her to embrace her natural hair and love her heritage. Photos of the father and daughter rocking their amazing hairdos have become an instant hit on social media.
“I teach her to walk in her natural elegance, and I make it a point to show her that she’s protected daily. That way, she remains fearless,” Harlem told XO Necole in an interview. He believes that it’s important to embrace one’s natural beauty as means to self-respect.
Harlem, himself, is also breaking stereotypes by having long hair and hopes that “more men will find pride in growing their hair out and wearing it as a crown of glory,” according to an interview with the PAPER magazine.
