Decennially yours!
It has been 10 eventful years and accolades are pouring in. We are proud to say that we have chronicled the city and state through all its ups and downs, celebrated Bengaluru's first Metro journey, protested with the citizenry as the quality of life and infrastructure slipped and celebrated with whoops of joy when the IT Capital became the Startup Capital. The journey has been rewarding and the readers continued to appreciate us for our quality reportage and for news and views. Welcome to the journey. Onward...
I am very much delighted to inform you that I am also one of the readers of Deccan Chronicle since its inception in Bengaluru, a decade ago. The wide readership which the Deccan Chronicle enjoys, reflects its credibility and popularity among the masses. It also speaks of the taste of our people for objective news. I have a small suggestion, rather an appeal. Kindly devote more space for developmental issues and be our partner in taking Karnataka to great heights in the map of development and progress. I wish Deccan Chronicle, which is celebrating its decennial anniversary, success in all its endeavours.
— H.D. Kumaraswamy, Chief Minister
You have maintained the integrity of journalism by practising it within the framework of exceptional ethical standards while reaching out to all the sections of the society. You are the ray of hope in the era of paid journalism; where public -media relations are weakening. The fact that you champion the cause of the underprivileged with the sheer intent of highlighting the truth must be applauded."
- Dr Suryanarayana Sharma, Consultant Neuro Physician and HOD, Department of Neurosciences, BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals
"Deccan Chronicle has become a popular news paper in Bangalore. Their reporting on various areas including current news, health, sports and Bangalore city news is well researched and written lucidly. In the last ten years of their inception, they have grown well and created a good readership in South India. They have created a space for themselves and established themselves as ethical publication. We wish them success in the future on this special occasion of 10th Anniversary."
- Dr Usha Manjunath, Director of Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR).
You guys focus on the actual news than the may be and could be news. You confirm on things and write about it, which I appreciate. Great going, keep up the good work

Bengaluru is better off with the presence of Deccan Chronicle for the last ten years. The diverse voices and flavours of our city have been well captured and expressed by DC along with highlighting southern and national issues. DC continues to actively shape this evolving dynamic city and the state

— B.S. Yeddyurappa, Former chief minister and opposition leader.
I have always been happy the way Deccan Chronicle has evolved over the years being a completely pro-citizen publication. The issues that continue to be presented on a daily basis in the newspaper shows the interest the company has given to highlight issues faced by the common man, bringing it to the notice of authorities concerned to resolve all such issues. The clarity and simplicity DC follows in the language used makes the paper reader-friendly as well. Best wishes for Team DC Bengaluru.

Deccan Chronicle is engaged in adding value to the fourth estate of democracy, ie the media. Through its sharp writing and reportage, the newspaper has been constantly making efforts to focus on the faults in the society besides highlighting the shortcomings in the system. I congratulate Deccan Chronicle on completing 10 successful years in Bengaluru.
— Dr G. Parameshwara, Deputy Chief Minister

Congratulations on completing 10 years and I wish many more to come. Deccan Chronicle has always been a people’s newspaper because the amount of stories and reports highlighting the civic problems has been amazing and helped the government open their eyes. The newspaper has been helpful to the citizens forum and public organisations. On behalf of the Citizens Action Forum, we once again extend a big congratulation
– Rajashekar D.S., President, Citizens Action Forum
Deccan Chronicle journalists have shown very high-level of maturity while reporting environmental issues, which tend to be sensationalised. Instead the journalists called up, took required documents, attended conferences and briefings before writing articles (especially on lakes and solid waste management). Mature writing with uncompromised truth has been the hallmark of the newspaper. Wishing Deccan Chronicle a very successful, adventurous and truth filled time ahead
- Ram Prasad, co-founder, Friends of Lake
Deccan Chronicle’s reportage has been to-the-point and unbiased. I respect the in-depth research they do while reporting on issues plaguing Bengaluru. It’s encouraging to see their news reports and editorials improve over the due course of time. DC has also been proactive in reporting on the various city-based challenges that citizens have been relentlessly working on
