Local heritage gets graffitied!

Women bikers in the city came together to support the cause of road safety at Necklace Road on Sunday.

An artist couple, Swathi and Vijay are striving to create awareness about the abandoned and neglected state of local heritage structures in the city by painting graffiti on their walls. The duo’s present campaign has already been executed on three structures in the Dargah locality. “We see these structures everyday on our way home,” says Swathi and explains further, “So we thought of creating awareness about their state and the fact that they need immediate attention from people and the government. We’ve written these messages on the walls: ‘I’m an orphan, adopt me!’, ‘Feeling lonely ’, etc., as we believe that the monuments are asking for help and support.” It is worth noting that there are many beautiful historical relics in the city that need repair.
