Britain's highest-ranking transgender soldier marries partner who was born a woman

In a fairytale wedding, Britain's highest-ranking transgender soldier has married her actor boyfriend, who was born a woman.

31-year-old Captain Hannah Winterbourn wed 40-year-old Jake Graf at the Chelsea Town Hall in London.

They have been called the 'world's foremost transgender power couple', the Daily Mail reported.

The couple described their wedding like a "Disney movie".

For the first few years in the army, Winterbourne was still a man, before undergoing a sex-change operation five years ago.

Her new husband began transitioning in his 20s. He starred alongside Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl.

The newlyweds begain dating just a few years ago and will now be living in quarters near Captain Winterbourne's Army barracks. They are both patrons of Mermaids, a transgender children's charity.

They are excited to start a family together.
