‘Tis the season to be merry and our Bollywood stars are also gearing up to celebrate the festive season. While many of them have already flown to their favourite destinations with their loved ones, there are also those who would be having a working Christmas. Like every other year, Shilpa Shetty Kundra has flown off to London with her family, while Bipasha Basu with husband Karan Grover is bringing in the New Year in the Maldives, and Made in China actor Rajkummar Rao has flown to Switzerland with his partner Patralekha. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, and Salman Khan are among those celebrating Christmas in Mumbai, harbouring high hopes for their end-of-year releases.
While some will spend their holidays working, others will bring joy to the less fortunate.
Kajol, who will be seen opposite husband Ajay Devgn in their January 2020 release Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is busy with film promotions. The actress has planned to keep it low-key this Christmas. “It will be the same as every year: We will be celebrating with family and close friends at home, followed by dinner. The year-end is special since Tanhaji is releasing two weeks into the New Year.”
After Race 3 and Housefull 4, the actor has been busy shooting for his next project away from home. However, he managed to make time to come back and celebrate Christmas with family. “I have been away from home for a month now, shooting for my next project. I am celebrating with my family for this one week and making the most of it with them before I travel again,” he shares.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
This entire month is a celebration for the Tashan actress, who welcomed her firstborn with husband Saif Ali Khan, Taimur Ali Khan on December 20. She kicked off the holiday season with a Christmas themed pre-birthday bash for her little munchkin, followed by a full-fledged celebration at her house. “Saif and I are in the town so the celebration will be at home with friends and family members,” Kareena informed in an earlier quote. The actress is waiting for her film’s release and hopes it becomes a blockbuster.
Ahead of the release of Good Newwz, the action hero is celebrating Christmas with family and friends followed by dinner at home. “By the grace of God, I have everything and I’m very grateful for it. I wish Santa helps us make the audience smile and spread love and cheer,” he says.
Riding high on the success of Uri and Bala this year, the actress will have a working Christmas and the New Year. “It will be a working Christmas for me as I have some meetings lined up. I will be going to Chandigarh two days after Christmas and will have a combined party for Christmas and New Year. It will be a close-knit affair just with family — my ideal way to begin the New Year,” she smiles.
The actress, who has movies such as Jai Ho, Hate Story 4 and Race 3 to her name, says she is celebrating the festival with her furry friend. “I am celebrating Christmas with my adorable dog. Since my family is out on a vacation, this year’s celebration is quiet and simple for me.”
The Fukrey actor is planning a Christmas feast with treats like grilled chicken, cheese platters, sangria pitchers, mimosas, banoffee pie, Turkish eggs, shrimp spaghetti, grilled prawns and corn on the cob. “Christmas is always dependent on my Santa friends who bake well. They get some nice plum cake and some pound cake. My brother will be preparing the feast. Please feel free to drop in. It’ll be mad fun,” he raves. Pulkit will also play Santa to the less fortunate. “It will be fun because there will be a few kids as well, and there are secret Santa goodies for the kids who are deprived of education, and food.”
