Check out this hilarious song about India's obsession with good news'

In India the phrase ‘good news’ is synonymous with the revelation of a pregnancy, preferably not long after one gets married. Apparently anything else for example a good test score, admission to a top college or even a fancy job promotion is not good enough to be classified as ‘good news’ in our country. Singer Sophia Ashraf gives a hilarious spin to this concept in her latest song titled: The Good News Song.

The song – in the form of an animated conversation between a mother and a daughter – is a fitting comment on the ridiculous mentality of society. Both the roles of the mother and the daughter are played by Sophia in the video.

Sophia first achieved recognition on social media for her song ‘Kodaikanal Won’t’ which was part of her campaign against Hindustan Unilever Limited.
