20,000 bees follow car for two days after queen bee gets trapped in it

What a nightmare!

If you ever doubted about the loyalty of bees to their queen then this story will scare the living daylights out of you. When a queen bee got trapped in the back of an SUV, a swarm of around 20,000 bees chased it for two whole days in the United Kingdom.

The situation got so alarming that it took five beekeepers, park rangers and passers-by to try to get them away from the car. However their efforts failed when the queen landed back inside the trunk of the car. Shockingly it was only after the queen bee was taken out of the car that the rest of the beehive left the vehicle.

“I have been beekeeping for 30 years and I have never seen a swarm do that. It is natural for them to follow the queen but it is a strange thing to see and quite surprising to have a car followed for two days. It was quite amusing,” beekeeper Roger Burns told the Metro.uk.
