Twitterati reacts as Chetan Bhagat replaces Tagore and Amitav Ghosh in DU syllabus
Literature has always been about studying and reading the classics and most universities prefer making Shakespeare and Orwell part of their syllabus. However in India, Tagore and Amitav Ghosh are quite popular and have been part of the syllabus in Delhi University but Chetan Bhagat’s recent inclusion has shocked many.
The popular fiction author took to Twitter to announce that DU had included his bestseller Five Point Someone as part of the Literature syllabus. The book will be part of the Popular Literature paper and has interestingly replaced Tagore and Amitav Ghosh in the syllabus. Twitter had various reactions including shock and failing to mock the decision by the university.
Some got really witty with puns
