Maroon 5 to Sugar' up Ambani sangeet

It’s one of the most anticipated wedding extravaganzas in 2019. And according to reports, it promises to the most extravagant wedding this year. Yet, what’s creating a furore is that there are reports that the American band Maroon 5 headlined by Adam Levine will be performing at the Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta sangeet to be held on March 8, 2019.

And what most music lovers are awaiting with anticipation is whether this might be a prediction that the celebrations might make it onto one of Maroon 5’s music videos. The private performance has made many fans recall the video of the band’s earlier song Sugar which saw the members unobtrusively walk into real time weddings to perform for the couples! The video went viral then.

It can be recalled that the biggest highlight of the earlier Ambani wedding — Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal had pop sensation, Beyonce taking to the stage.

Bey performed at the sangeet in Udaipur. Now, according to a daily newspaper, Maroon 5 will be performing at Akash and Shloka’s sangeet ceremony. The rock band consists of vocalist, Adam Levine, keyboardists, Jesse Carmichael, and PJ Morton, bassist, Mickey Madden and guitarist, James Valentine.

It was also revealed, that since both Shloka and Akash are fans of Maroon 5, the family thought it fitting to have them perform at the occasion. While Akash’s favourite track is Sugar, Shloka loves Moves Like Jagger. They are expected to perform for almost 40 minutes with other hits like She Will Be Loved, Makes Me Wonder and One More Night. The team of sound designers that frequently works with Maroon 5 is coming down from Canada to check on the arrangements.

A source also revealed that Maroon 5 is known to charge anywhere between $1 mn and $1.5 mn for private shows, so it will be an expensive affair. Akash and Shloka will tie the knot on March 9, 2019, in Mumbai.
