Raising the BAR

We talk to Nikita Shiv, who has curated a workshop that brings together entrepreneurs and thought leaders.

The B.A.R for Nikita Shiv, founder of a digital networking company is not just a place to go in to hangout and emerge from with a hangover. She has changed the perception of what a B.A.R is, with the creation of a unique workshop that will be held this Saturday, where individuals from various business domains will come and connect, collaborate, learn from each other and explore synergies and opportunities. This is the second event of this type, which has been made even bigger and better after she received great response and feedback from ‘Episode 1’.

These workshops not only tell people ‘how’, ‘why’, ‘what’ and ‘when’ but is also focused on teaching hacks that would probably take years of learning and experience otherwise. Nikita explains, “This day-long event will not only leave you with 100+ years of experience worth of knowledge but also 100+ new friends from the ecosystem. With everyone coming under one roof, I cannot even imagine the number of opportunities that will be created and discovered..”

On a larger scale, this gathering brings a unique agenda consisting of emerging business and market leaders, investors and pre-eminent speakers, influencers and designers from diverse sectors to share their personal experiences as well as debating to help budding entrepreneurs develop and shape the path of their entrepreneurial dream. “My organisation has helped me build a very strong network in the ecosystem. This definitely gave me the confidence to go ahead at this scale. Although, high-profile events such as this come with a lot of stress, precision and responsibilities, my core team - comprising Arpita Subudhi and Tarun Bantanahal - has definitely made this easier. Besides, we like challenges, so this is something that we are really looking forward to doing for a long time to come.”

The blessings from her family and friends have been immensely helpful. She speaks about her personal career trajectory, “Although I was not too clear exactly how but I always knew that the entrepreneurial path was for me. Soon after my engineering at MIT Manipal, I started working with Dell EMC. During my college days and during my days at Dell EMC, I always worked part time with start-ups in various domains. This helped me in building a strong foundation before I started off and the experience that I got from working in an MNC was definitely an added advantage. Building the networking platform has been a beautiful journey. It keeps me on my feet and motivated as I get to talk to founders and industry experts every single day! I learn from their journeys too.”
