PM Modi biopic trolled by netizens

The Narendra Modi biopic directed by Omung Kumar, PM Narendra Modi, is proving to be a source of huge embarrassment for the Modi govt.

The Narendra Modi biopic PM Narendra Modi has been bearing the brunt of the biggest troll torrent in recent times. Blatant attempts to project the Prime Minister, as seen in the trailer, as the messiah of the downtrodden have the Twitterati in splits, so much so that prominent sections within the BJP are worried if this film will actually serve the purpose of taking Prime Minister Modi towards victory or would it drive the potential voters away. Says a BJP loyalist, “Let’s not judge the film before it is released. But yes, the trailer is not what we expected it to be. The presentation could be more classy.”

To make matters worse lyricist, Javed Akhtar, recently called out the fraudulence in the film’s publicity and posters where his name was mentioned as one of the lyricists. Akhtar tweeted his protest saying he had nothing to do with the biopic. Another well-known lyricist Sameer, whose name was also in the credits, has come forward to state he is not a part of the project.

One now hears that lyricist and CBFC Chairman, Prasoon Joshi whose name is also in the credits of the trailer has not written any lyrics for the film, which is based on the life of Narendra Modi. Although the lyricist has not yet come out with a denial, possibly due to his closeness with the Prime Minister.

Interstingly, sources close to the BJP state that the Prime Minister’s office intends to distance itself from this unauthorised biopic.

Producer comes to the rescue!
Meanwhile, after lyricist Javed Akhtar slammed the filmmakers for using his name incorrectly on the poster of the movie PM Narendra Modi, producer Sandip Ssingh took to Twitter to clarify that they only took Akhtar’s name as they had used some of his old songs. “We have taken the songs ‘Ishwar Allah’ from the film ‘1947:Earth’ and the song ‘Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon’ from the film ‘Dus’ in our film, thus we have given the due credits to respective lyricists Javed Sahab and Sameer Ji. @TSeries is our Music partner. @ModiTheFilm2019 (sic),” Sandip tweeted.
