Poetry performance reflects on the struggles of ambitious women in society

The feminist movement has only so much been able to make progressive ideas about gender a reality in the past few decades. But even with all these policies in place, the society is yet to get rid of its patriarchal shackles. The woman who dares to nurse ambition is one of the many hostages of such a mentality.

Kommune India recently uploaded a video in which Diksha Bijlani recites a word poem about the experience of being an ambitious woman. Despite more and more women making a mark in various fields, many people find it difficult to come to terms with the fact that women can excel men.

Perhaps it will compel people to introspect after their deeply ingrained convictions are challenged.
