Just weeks before Kaylee Suders was supposed to attend her high school prom with her boyfriend, he tragically passed away in a car crash.
The 18-year-old and 19-year-old Carter Brown were close friends for years before they began dating 11 months ago, Yahoo reported.
Given that this time in her life was challenging, Suder decided she wasn't going to go to her prom.
But that didn't sit well with Brown's father Robert Brown, who wanted to make sure she would still enjoy the special night.
So Robert offered to escort Kaylee to the prom and asked the high school for permission before he asked the teen.
When he was given the green light and asked Kaylee, she was touched.
"They took Carter’s car and had dinner before the dance at the restaurant where Kaylee and Carter went on their first date," Robert's wife is quoted as saying by Yahoo. Adding, "I hope this will be a memory that she will cherish."
Robert's wife Kelly O'Neil Brown's Facebook post about the sweet story has gone viral on social media.
