2-year-old girl with Down's syndrome gets major modelling assignment
A toddler with Down’s syndrome has broken major barriers by winning a modelling contract with a major children’s wear brand. Lily Beddall was chosen from hundreds of child models to go on to become the face of Matalan in all of their 217 stores.
Her parents, Vicki and Eddie Beddall, even took her out to see her images featured in an advertising campaign at their local store. Not only did Lily point and recognise herself, she also signed her name.
Understandable, her parents couldn’t have been happier with her decision. “Because children with disabilities in the fashion world/advertising are still in the minority and so it’s wonderful that Lily is able to represent the minority and hopefully in the future this won’t be a newsworthy story, it will just be the norm,” says her mom Vicki, according to a report by the Unilad.
