41-year-old doctor claims to have 46-years of experience, gets license revoked

Dr Kashif Samin has been banned from practising after fabricating experience, university degree and links to societies in job applications.

A 41-year-old doctor has been struck off after claiming he had 46 years of medical experience.

Dr Kashif Samin, now 42, has been permanently banned from practising after fabricating his experience, his university degree and his links to societies in job applications.

Earlier this month the General Medical Council’s (GMC) Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) heard how he told a string of lies.

Samin, applying for a job at at Glan Clwyd Hospital in North Wales, Samin boasted that he had a master’s degree in emergency medicine from Manchester Metropolitan University.

It turns out, in reality, he had quit the course.

He also posted a CV online which claimed he had more than 46 years’ experience as a doctor, despite then being aged only 41.

The GP also made claims on his social media account profiles that he had studied at a university in New York – only later to admit he simply visited their library.

Among his many claims were having an article published in the Journal of Gastroentology, (no evidence was ever found) and him being a fellow of the American Association of Aesthetic Surgeons (no such organisation exists).

Now Samin, of Llandudno, North Wales, has been struck off the medical register after a week-long tribunal in Manchester.
