Amitabh Bachchan's stand evokes disgust

At a promotional event for his upcoming film, 102 Not Out, Big B was asked about attacks on women on a regular basis.

Amitabh Bachchan, brand ambassador of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, has barely managed to say a word about the horrific incidents in Kathua and Unnao. At a promotional event for his upcoming film, 102 Not Out, Big B was asked about attacks on women on a regular basis. He dismissed it saying, “Iss vishay pe charcha karne ke liye mujhe ghinn aati hai. Iss vishay ko mat uchaliye [I feel disgusted discussing this issue, please don’t bring it up]. It’s terrible to even talk about it,” he said. Social media has erupted in horror at the statement.

I am like any kid from 70's for who #AmitabhBachchan was the one and only superhero. Unfortunately things change. So, for his insensitive comments on rape I will stop buying the products he endorses.

Strange!!!
The Bold Advocate of the Movie #Pink is avoiding the issue of “Rape”? What about your letter to Navya & Araddhya, @SrBachchan Sir?
You are an Ikon sir, you should speak about the situation of the country... You can’t escape....

What a shame that the ambassador of #BetiBachao campaign @SrBachchan feels it’s disgusting to talk about the plight of little children and women in India. Cashing in on the concept for promoting a movie is ok
clearly.

So Mr @SrBachchan it's just okay to make films on rapes & molestation and cash it but not talk about it when in real?
