Video: Hilarious ad for anti-rape medicine is the perfect cure for misogynists

An overtly patriarchal culture has given rise to widespread misogyny (hatred towards women) in most parts of the world. An unfortunate by-product of this is the normalisation of what sociologists call ‘rape culture’. ‘Rape culture’ is a term used to describe the disturbing ways in which the society blames victims of sexual assault and normalizes sexual violence against women.

There’s a shockingly high number of men (and even women) who believe that a woman in a relationship with a man has automatically given her unconditional consent to have sex with him. On the other hand, if women so much as even try to express their sexuality in ways that overstep certain arbitrary norms (like conventional monogamous relationships) then they are immediately ‘slut-shamed’.

This video makes use of sarcasm and humour in order to create awareness about this social malaise and debunks the ridiculous idea of male entitlement towards female bodies.
