BTech students of Cusat splash colours on walls

Enthusiasts are pouring in to enjoy this visual treat and also to take selfies.

KOCHI: They have trodden a colourful path, moving away from the hustle and bustle of their instruments. Students of BTech (Instrumentation) at Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) have splashed the compound wall and outer wall of their department building with beautiful paintings to give a stylish look to their second home. One can see the quantum jump in technology from the wheel to aircraft to brushes to depict the cultural scape touching various art forms like kathakali and thullal and drawing traditional musical instruments like kombu and kuzhal apart from the vibrant boat races. Temples, churches and mosques also are among them to depict the religious diversity of the country. The pristine beauty of nature and the wildlife around and the cultural heritage of India are also depicted.

Enthusiasts are pouring in to enjoy this visual treat and also to take selfies. The art work was crafted as part of their tech fest held recently. The team comprised Akhil, Sooraj (8th semester), Sarath and Unni Krishnan (6th semester) who were ably supported by Saranya V.S (guest lecturer), all from the Department of Instrumentation. “We really feel delighted to craft these paintings on these walls and the reactions of the visitors were reassuring,” said Akhil.
