Chennai’s expat scene is a vibrant one. Many of the city’s overseas residents host lavish parties and are on the select guest lists of the rich and famous. And two of them have even managed to crack the K’town code.
Bruce Schwak, one of the top people at a pharmaceutical and sports management firm, has essayed a poignant role in an upcoming movie. “It feels wonderful to be given the platform to showcase our acting capacities. This is a talent and aptitude I didn’t know I had. But when I got the opportunity, I signed up for it, as I love adventures,” says Bruce.
Bruce is going to be seen in a big-budget SCI-Fi that has Sivakarthikeyan playing the lead. He says, “I have a really cool look and I’ve shaved my trademark beard for this role.”
Another mover and shaker on the expat scene is the effervescent Adam Greig, the Numero Uno professor at AR Rahman’s prestigious music school. He is the life of all Consulate parties and city fashion events. He has been cast in a movie, Mapillai Singam. He shares, “To be given a chance to reach a mass audience in a foreign country is a huge honour. It was so much fun shooting with such a talented crew and I learnt so much Tamil during the process.”
