Video: News presenter awkwardly explains what couple are doing behind him

BBC Sports presenter Dan Walker was giving an update on the Olympic Games but had to stop mid-way in order to clarify something happening behind him that viewers were curious about. He was standing in front of a beach and addressing the camera for a live report when he had to answer a question from people on social media that was not related to sports at all.

“For those asking what's going on in the background on social media now, we're not going to zoom in,” Walker is heard saying in the video clip before adding, “But rest assured, it's not... that.” Apparently a couple in the background was looking like they were getting a bit too cosy in the public place.

Walker went on to say that the pair was just ‘having a hug’. “They’re reading a book…in a strange pose,” he insisted and even tweeted about the funny incident later.
