Watch: This Indian folk and Italian opera mashup impresses A.R. Rahman
A YouTube collaboration between an Italian musician and an Indian folk singer has managed to gain praise from even the Mozart of Madras – A.R. Rahman. Natalie di Luccio, an Italian-Canadian YouTuber, who is well known for making covers of Bollywood songs partnered with Rajasthani folk singer Sawan Khan Manganiyar to come up with a soulful song titled ‘A Dream in Rajasthan’.
The song is an interesting juxtaposition of the Italian classic ‘Nella Fantasia’ with powerful rustic Indian vocals. Moreover, the video has been shot at the Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur and features absolutely stunning visuals.
The song that speaks of spreading peace and love across borders even left A.R. Rahman impressed who shared the video on his Twitter account.
