Cheap Valentine's gift from husband fetches Rs 64 lakh lottery win for Iowa woman

Valentine’s Day marked people across the world coming up with carefully planned surprises and presents for a special day with their partners. While people may or may not like a gift, some incidents show why gifts shouldn’t be judged by price tags.

A woman in Iowa wasn’t impressed when her husband got her a $10 scratch off ticket. But that changed when the ticket turned out to be the one that fetched her a Rs 64 lakh jackpot.

Meanwhile her husband said he isn’t surprised since he always knew his wife is a winner although he didn’t think she would win such a huge amount. The 54-year-old woman couldn’t believe she actually hit the jackpot until she visited the lottery headquarters.

Cynthia Holmes who works at Walmart now plans to pay off her car and house with the winnings.
