Religious intolerance and communal violence has been a major cause of concern for the past few decades in India, and different groups have been fanning tensions between communities in order to further their political agendas.
But it’s also well known that a majority of the people want to live in peace and move forward towards a better life and future. Common people not only seek to preserve communal harmony, but are also ready to stand up to those spewing venom in the name of religion.
This is exactly what came out when RJ Naved from Radio Mirchi conducted a social experiment by talking against Hindus in Muslim areas and against Muslims in Hindu areas.
The RJ was not only shunned by people, but also apprehended and in some cases turned away by Muslims and Hindus alike. This goes on to reiterate that only a handful of people are pushing a communal agenda, and the majority wants peace.
If only those in majority wanting communal harmony would come out assertively against the minority of hate mongers.
