The phrase “like a girl\" is thrown about casually in daily conversations to describe actions that are weak'.

Anyone who believes in the principles of equality would most likely be disturbed by the fact that a large chunk of our society uses the phrase “like a girl” as an insult. Sadly, there are even statistics that back this shameful notion. An independent survey conducted by Nielson has found that seven in ten girls feel pressurized to obey societal restrictions and six in ten girls eventually discontinue playing sports by the time they reach puberty.

The phrase “like a girl" is thrown about casually in daily conversations to describe actions that are ‘weak’. Unfortunately, such types of remarks tend to have a deeply negative impact on the self-esteem of young girls.

This video by a well-known feminine hygiene product brand depicts how slowly but surely society might have to change the way it views what doing something “like a girl” exactly means.
