‘Door knob’ found in nachos at Taco Bell
A Taco Bell in upstate New York served their nachos with a very unexpected ingredient- a door knob. The picture was posted by a Facebook user who visited the Poughkeepsie branch of Taco Bell.
Eve Saint waited for 45 minutes at a drive-in before she headed home with her dinner. She as she was about to tuck into her takeaway dinner, she noticed something hard and inedible in the food. Nestled among her nachos, onions and jalapenos was a door knob, completely smothered in mustard and ketchup.
When Eve posted the photo on Facebook, several people commented on the incredulity of the incident. Some people even questioned its authenticity, to which Eve replied, “I wish this shit was fake I’m hungry and waited in the drive through for 45 mins and I’m the only one who got a door knob,” reported UNILAD.
When Eve called the Taco Bell in question, they told her it was ‘impossible’ and claimed that they kept the phone. She tried calling them several times again later, but they didn’t get an answer.
After several attempts, an employee finally answered her call and apologised and offered her free nachos as compensation. It also later emerged that it was the handle of a cheese grater and not a door knob- a much more feasible scenario than a part of your door ending up in your food.
Taco Bell issued the following statement after the incident, “ We take this very seriously. The franchisee that owns and operates this location is looking into this matter and strives to make things right with the customer.”
While it is still not clear how a cheese grater ended up in a customer’s food, it would be advisable to go through out take-out before eating it, lest we find a window frame in it the next time.
