As the sun set behind the boulders of Gachibowli stadium, the young exuberant crowd of Hyderabad slowly trickled in for one of the hottest concerts of the year. One of the leading DJs in the world currently, Marshmello’s concert by Vh1 Supersonic had the town abuzz for days now. Dressed to impress, the city’s fashion savvy crowd did not fail to add the razzmatazz to the show. Headlined by DJ Lost Stories and Zaeden, the evening started off with hit Hindi and English EDM singles.

However, the theatrics of Marshmello’s entry got the arena roaring. Complete with pyrotechnics and fireworks, Marshmello had his Mello Gang chanting his name.

The Alone hitmakker asked everyone to observe a moment of silence for the martyrs of the Pulwama attack, before ripping out the beats. Youngsters snapped away for the perfect Instagram moment as Marshmello switched to famous Telugu, Tamil and Hindi tracks. However, the visual that one will forever remember is the sea of cellphone flashlights being waved around when Alone was played. The crowd sang in unison, soaking in the music of the track that put Marshmello on the global map.

Taking a moment out from the crowd, Ankur Jha heaving from all the dancing, gushed, “It’s unreal to be here. As a huge Marshmello fan, to see him on stage right in front of me is insane. This is way beyond how amazing I thought it was going to be.”

The crowd, post the event, headed to the after party at Prism, a club known for it’s gyroscopic lighting, where the party went on till the wee hours, complete with confetti bombs and bottles of champagne being sprayed around.

In his new music video, Biba, Marshmello has paid tribute to the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. Composed by Pritam Chakraborty and featuring popular singer Shirley Setia, the video starts with a shout out to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge where Marshmello can be seen playing the guitar just the way SRK’s character Raj did. It also features an allusion to the popular song Dola Re Dola, Chaiyya Chaiyya and one can also get to see Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’s Rahul and Anjali playing basketball in the track. What’s more, the video has SRK himself making a special appearance towards the end of the track.

Marshmello posted a small glimpse from the music video on his Instagram page with a caption stating, “Anytime I’ve ever come to India I’ve always felt so welcomed like it’s home. I’ve always been so fascinated by the rich amounts of culture throughout the country. This is why Biba means so much to me because I was able to create something with @ipritamofficial and @shirleysetia that I’m so proud of and I hope everyone can appreciate the time and effort that went into this. Mellogang is going to take over Bollywood with this one!! Biba music video is out now on my YouTube! Big thank you to @jiosaavn @punitdmalhotra @iamsrk #biba (sic).”
