Video: Marvel comics' latest super-hero is a 'Syrian mom'
The situation in Syria has constantly been deteriorating since the conflict began almost 6 years back. Apart from the appalling bloodshed and large-scale destruction, hostilities have also triggered off the worst refugee crisis since the Second World War.
The situation has escalated to an extent where children are made to suffer most as many have been orphaned in the carnage. But stories of courage from the war are also spreading hope, as the white helmets and many other ordinary people have emerged as superheroes.
Based on the real life accounts of a woman from Madaya in Syria, who has been trapped in the town with her family for over a year, a comic by Marvel and ABC tells the story of her battle with starvation and violent threats like a superhero, as her children are caught between warring factions.
The woman’s identity isn’t know since the story came from a Syrian civilian who contacted ABC, but the super-mom has been named as Madaya Mom.
