If you had any doubts about the international popularity of Bollywood then look no further than this year’s Olympic Games. The Mexican synchronised swimming team chose to perform their routine to a catchy Akshay Kumar dance number on 15th August 2016 at the Rio Olympics.
Karem Achach and Nuria Diosdado energetically matched steps in the pool with the ‘Aila Re Aila’ song from the Bollywood movie Khatta Meetha playing in the background. The film, which was released in the year 2010, has starred superstar Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles.
Now here’s another piece of good news: the talented duo not only ended up in the ninth place but have also qualified for the finals.
