Bengaluru: Locals conduct pothole pooja' to gain officials attention

The pothole pooja did the trick and on the same day BBMP officials filled the crater and levelled the road.

The residents of the HSR Layout area, Bengaluru, recently did something unique to gain some attention of the officials in the civic authorities.

They performed a 'pothole pooja' to bring the issue of increasing potholes in the are to the attention of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

The pooja was organised by a NGO named Hasiry Mitra on the pothole at 11th Cross road located near Cambridge School.

This out of the box idea drew the public and they actively took part in the event.

This isn’t the first time that people of Bengaluru have tried to address an issue. Sometime ago, local artists created a huge crocodile made up of fibre to highlight about the dangerous condition of Bengaluru roads and hazards it causes to the commuters.

The pothole pooja did the trick and on the same day BBMP officials filled the crater and levelled the road.

Many reports states that many lanes in HSR Layout are in poor condition. The NGO has even submitted 50-60 complaints on potholes to the BBMP.
