D-BOSS' b'day wish: Be charitable
His fans call him D-Boss, which means Darshan the boss while other called him the Sultan of the Box Office. And, rightly so, as he has been ruling Sandalwood for over decade with the highest percentage of success. Challenging Star Darshan turned 42 today, a day his die-hard fans celebrate with fanfare every year.
However, the star himself has put brakes on any such celebrations this year. Apart from customary wishes, and a new project getting launched, there will be no big celebration due to the sad demise of Rebel Star Ambareesh.
Previously, the star himself had appealed to his fans not to waste money on hoardings, cakes, flowers or bursting firecrackers. He had also appealed to fans to desist from destroying properties of his neighbours, and to utilise the money to feed orphans, instead.
“I cannot repay the unconditional love and affection bestowed upon me by my beloved fans and supporters over the years. Following my appeal, some of them had requested me on various social media sites to allow them to contribute food items for orphans and senior citizens, as a gesture on my birthday. I am glad that they have received it well, for which I have assured that not only will I be collecting them, but I will personally make sure that their contribution will reach at least one orphanage and old age home in each district, along with the Sri Siddaganga Mutt,” says Darshan.
Work wise, his 55th project which is yet to be titled will be launched today (February 16), and his most-expected movie Yajamana directed by V Harikrishna is all set to hit the screens on March 1.
Yajamana produced by Shylaja Nag has been trending on social media with a record number of views — reaching upto 16 million views including its songs and a trailer which was recently released. He is paired opposite the sensational Rashmika Mandanna in Yajamana. His other mythological drama Munirathna Kurukshetra’ is slated for release in April.
