Commercial shows kids confessing to parents about exam pressure
With board exams just around the corner, students are under a lot of pressure to perform well from parents, teachers, and even their own peers. Miranda, a popular soft drink brand, has released an ad which portrays a dramatised reading of open letters that Indian teens have written to their parents about what they are being put through to achieve academic success.
The video, which is titled #ReleaseThePressure, reveals heartbreaking revelations by teenagers who are restricted from doing the things that they love just to spend hours cramming for tests. Tragically it is their parents who are making things even worse for them by comparing them to other kids which can be very hurtful.
Exam stress is a critical issue that has been neglected for years despite reports showing that exam pressure is one of the top causes for depression and suicidal tendencies amongst teenagers in India.
