This is a story of a grandmother, who now has five children and 15 grandchildren. She recalls her time in Pakistan and remembers the moment she met the love of her life.

She got married during partition and started her life from scratch in India. In the post she narrates how when communal hatred was at its peak, a Muslim friend helped them escape.

“As time went by and Independence was around the corner he asked me to marry him saying that ‘war was inevitable and he couldn’t bear the thought of being separated from me.”

Since then the couple started their life together and they also revisited Pakistan.

Though now her husband is no longer alive, she says how he has left a lifetime of memories that can keep her going.
