Scientists reveal how rich people are more likely to cheat on partners and lie

A psychologist said that coming from a higher social class may lead to increased unethical behaviour.

Being rich is something a lot of people dream about and everyone looks forward to a better life fuelled by wealth. But does money really make someone a better person?

Now scientists are suggesting that the rich are also more likely to steal, cheat on their partners, lie and drive recklessly. A psychologist said that coming from a higher social class may lead to increased unethical behaviour.

The negative effect of wealth and power is described as the most reliable laws concerning human behaviour. A study showed that wealthy people are more inclined to lie while negotiating, cheat to win and endorse unethical practices at work.

While favourable attitudes towards greed cause the lack of ethics, the tendency to break laws comes from a feeling that they are above the law.
