US President Donald Trump is at it again! Old habits clearly die hard for this politician who is known for passing unsavoury remarks against women. He couldn’t stop himself from flirting with the French First Lady Brigitte Trogneux, during his recent trip to Paris. He blatantly told the 64-year-old first lady that she “is in such good shape.” Defying all norms of protocol, he yanked her towards him via a gripping handshake. This isn’t a first, when it comes to him passing sexist remarks. Just last month, Trump attempted to flirt with Irish TV reporter Caitriona Perry in the oval office while the cameras were rolling.
In the recent past, he has been notorious for calling TV hosts ‘bimbos’, shaming the wives of his Presidential competition. “Trump’s blatant sexism is deeply troubling. What baffles me is his complete ignorance of the fact that he is sexist. He genuinely believes women want to be graded by their looks. He holds patriarchal notions about how women should be” expresses Parinitha Shinde, lecturer at St.Joseph’s College. “ Being one of the most powerful men in the country and seeing how Trump treats and regards women, this could lead to deviants of the United States to be influenced and encouraged to breed more sexism and discrimination,” says Manisha Maxson, a budding artist.
