Youngest single dad to adopt child in India set to tie the knot

The 28-year-old software engineer has ensured that his marriage celebrations will be unlike conventional functions.

Aditya Tiwari, who made headlines after he became the youngest single parent in the country to adopt a child with special abilities, will be getting married to a girl from Indore on July 16th. But the 28-year-old software engineer has ensured that his marriage celebrations will be unlike conventional functions.

Not only will the guests receive books and medicines as gifts, Tiwari also plans to plant a 100 saplings to mark the occasion, according to media reports. “As it is one of the happiest days of my life, I want to include people who never get any invitations like children from orphanage, homeless and poor people,” he says.

Tiwari, who adopted one-and half-year-old Binni with Down’s syndrome and a hole in his heart as well, had to face many hurdles as his adoption requested had been rejected on the grounds that he was a bachelor and too young. Old regulations did not permit single parents below the age of 30 to adopt, but fortunately in October last year, the age limit was lowered to 25. He was then able to finally adopt Binni after more than a year of completing legal formalities in January 2016. Tiwari later re-named his child Avneesh.
