80-year-old woman sells goats to build toilet for centenarian mother-in-law
Basic civic amenities are a necessity for every individual and unavailability can lead to a lot of issues especially if it is aged people. A woman in Uttar Pradesh decided to take matters into her hands after authorities didn’t listen to her plea to build a toilet and she is now quite a hero in her village.
According to a media report, 80-year-old Chandana from the Anantapur village in Kanpur sold six of her goats so she could collect money to build a toilet for her 102-year-old mother-in-law. The centenarian had recently had a fall and broken her leg when she visited the toilet which made it really difficult for her after that. While her daughter-in-law took it up with the government authorities but they didn’t help her at all.
The octogenarian gifted the toilet to her mother-in-law on Mothers Day making it the perfect gift for her. She has also set the perfect example for personal and public hygiene and has received a lot of support for her effort.
