People are known for doing bizarre things to animals which can be cruel yet surprising. Two men were recently detained for trying to get two monkeys married in Lonavala, a hill station in Mumbai.
The two men, 39-year-old B. Lokhande and 59-year-old Praveen Thampi tried to get the monkeys married at a bungalow. Both the men were arrested under the Wildlife Protection Act under cruelty to animals. The monkeys were rescued after a tip-off to the forest officials.
The bizarre act took place on the terrace of the bungalows where the two monkeys were tied and kept to perform the ritual. While the two men denied the act, the officials said it was quite evident and the truth would be found out soon from them.
